The Swoondle Society

At my Wood Squared Internship, we work with multiple clients. One of those is The Swoondle Society, a kid’s clothing trading company. Regarding their social media, my primary tasks include creating cohesive content and ensuring planned content follows their business plan on Planoly before going live. Above is a preview of some of the content I produced for both Instagram and Facebook.

So far in this internship, we have seen Swoondler’s follower count grow by approximately 132.67 each month, which is higher than it was previously. In addition, 56.6% of the feed posts between June 1 and November 29, 2020, were content that I created. Another fun fact is that the #1 best Instagram post within the last two years was a mini giveaway shoot that I requested the founder of Swoondle to create.

SNIPSA

At my SNIPSA Internship, I created and posted all of the social media content on Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube. SNIPSA is a non-profit animal rescue. Above is a preview of some of the content I produced for both Instagram and Facebook.

During my time in this position, 7 out of 12 of SNIPSA’s top liked posts I had created, written the captions for, and posted. Several posts I created also had the most comments, most impressions, most reach, and 2nd most engagement out of all of their former posts.

In addition, I revamped the Foster and Volunteer Society Facebook Group called SNIPSA FAVS. Before the rebrand and update, the group had 193 members, but after it grew 126% to 437 members and engagement increased tremendously. For instance, there was a 453% engagement increase on posts, a 1.4k% increase for comments, and a 1.9k increase for reactions.

The Window

The Window magazine was created in partnership with Hardin-Simmon University’s Logsdon program. I was provided the content such as photos and text and then tasked with turning it into a magazine. Click the image for the final product.

Campus Banners

Over four months of lots of collaboration, these banners were put up around the Hardin-Simmons University campus. The banners with words were placed around the main hub on campus, the Moody building. The simple logo version was placed around the perimeter of the campus for drivers to see along the road. Click the image(s) above to see the final product.

Police Badge

This police badge logo was created for the Hardin-Simmons University Police Department. It was created as a patch for their uniforms, placed on the side of their vehicles, put on their office door, etc. This was a really fun project because I started from scratch without many opinions as they wanted to see what options I could come up with. After many revisions, this was the final product.

T-Shirts

While working for the University Marketing department at Hardin-Simmons University, I was fortunate enough to create several t-shirt designs. Above is the Fresh Fest design for a celebration surrounding first-year students finishing their first year. This design was printed in four colors on four tank top colors. Over 500 of these were printed.

Another design I got to create was for the annual Christmas Party in 2018. Over 1,000 of those were printed onto long sleeve t-shirts.

Posters

The above design is an example of one of the many posters I created for various events at Hardin-Simmons University.

Miscellaneous Print Projects

Outside of the more significant projects I tacked at Hardin-Simmons University, I also helped on many others. Some of those included tri-folds, business cards, thank you notes, letterheads, logos, social media content, tickets, web banners, postcards, event pamphlets, tabletop stands, and more. The above photo features the first design I ever had printed.

PAWS-ITIVELY COOL DOG TRICKS

This website was created using a free Bootstrap template for my Web Design course at Texas State University. It features photos and videos of myself and my dog, Harley, giving training videos for certain dog tricks. Creating this website was a fun project as I had to be creative in choosing a topic to make a website about during the pandemic. Instead of risking myself and my family, I chose to work with my dog instead of choosing a topic where I’d need to interview others outside my family. What can I say… I LOVE MY DOG!

From Rescued To Adopted

This website was my first experience with a blog! I created it as part of my Foundations of Digital and Online Media course at Texas State University. If you haven’t already noticed, I’m a big fan of dogs, so I made that the website’s theme. At the time, I was working at SNIPSA as an intern and wanted to share the adoption stories of certain dogs.

SJMC Analytics Report

Above is an analytics report I created for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication Facebook page at Texas State University. While taking this course, I started to implement Analytics Reports for my SNIPSA internship as I recognized the true value of them.

Klaviyo

At The Swoondle Society, we made the switch to using Klaviyo for all email marketing efforts for a more robust analytics platform that merged well with Inverge. I am in charge of sending out all of the weekly campaigns with unique segmentation.

Since switching to Klaviyo, our open and click rates have steadily increased for months with changes to our segments.

Mailchimp

Within my Wood Squared Internship, I help manage all of the email campaigns for The Swoondle Society, a kid’s clothing trading company. Types of emails that I help organize and create for subscribers include promo/sale, educational & informational, social, announcements, membership summaries, etc. Since I have taken over email campaigns, we have been more organized across all platforms and noticed that a large number of conversions for new members and orders come from email campaigns.

Inverge

Inverge is the platform that The Swoondle Society uses for their clothing tracking system, website, and emails for all of their customers (whether they are subscribed or not). I assist with sending out email campaigns, setting up landing pages, and making minor website updates as needed.
